What is the Polar Plunge?

The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support local Special Olympics athletes by jumping into icy cold waters. Plunge participants take a quick dip to raise funds for Special Olympics New Brunswick. 

Jumping into icy cold water really not your thing? You can still participate and show your support by making a pledge to a braver soul. Join us and be “Freezin’ for a Reason” – Take the Plunge!

Post it on your social medias and tag us @SpecialOlympicsNewBrunswick on Facebook and @specialonb on Instagram and use the hashtags #PlungeNB #PolarPlungeNB or #2022PlungeNB so we can see all of you brave virtual plungers!

The 6th annual Unified Basketball Championship will be held March 23rd, 2024 at the Currie Center’s performance gym! Come cheer on the athletes for a fun packed day of basketball and to witness the transformative powers of sport and inclusion

The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) welcomes you to join us for the third annual Fall Ball Charity Golf Tournament, in support of Special Olympics New Brunswick!

On September 21st, the LETR will be hosting the Fall Ball Charity Golf Tournament in support of Special Olympics! All funds raised from this event will go to support our athletes in New Brunswick. Our goal is to raise funds and awareness of our programs during this fun event!

SONB’s Mario Richard will be hosting a Virtual Coaching Course on August 23rd, 30th, and September 6th from 6pm - 10pm. Wether you are thinking of becoming a coach, a new coach looking to take the mandatory course or a seasoned coach wanting a refresher on the competitions course, all are welcome!

There will be a golf competition held in Landry for Special Olympics New Brunswick golfers! Everyone is welcome to come and watch the athletes and enjoy a day of being on the course.

Softball NB is hosting a “Try It Day” at Bliss Carman on August 10th from 6pm - 7pm with their Community Caravan program!

Ages 5-15yrs

You must register for this event and registration is limited. Please email Youth Coordinator, Kate Maston, at nbyouth@specialolympics.ca to register and for more information.

There will be a SONB Swim Meet at the Saint John Aquatic Center on June 11th from 2pm - 5pm. Everyone is welcome to come and watch to cheer on the swimmers!

This year, we will continue to have a in person plunge (April 23rd at 11:00am-12:30pm) AND a virtual plunge. The virtual plunge can be submitted any time between April 10th-April 23rd. Post it on your social medias and tag us @SpecialOlympicsNewBrunswick on Facebook and @specialonb on Instagram and use the hashtags #PlungeNB #PolarPlungeNB or #2022PlungeNB so we can see all of you brave virtual plungers!
